The NSW Rugby League (NSWRL) and NRL Community Youth Development tournament is designed to broaden Junior League participation base for non-representative players and celebrate culture and diversity in Junior Rugby League and the wider community. For the first time the tournament will host up to 1,000 players in three divisions; Under-16’s girls and boys, Under-18’s boys and Open Women’s.
The free community event will not only host plenty of action on the field but also entertainment for the whole family including cultural music, performances and food, jumping castle, face painting and NRL ambassador appearances. Leading into the tournament, the participating youth players will take part in leadership workshops which encourage the NRL’s values of courage, excellence, teamwork and inclusiveness. The tournament and education workshops aim to facilitate cultural exchange and promote shared experiences which contribute to a more cohesive and accepting society.
