In 2008, Rugby League was the first national sporting code to develop and implement a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). Having now embarked on our third RAP, the NRL became the first national sporting code to have a RAP which focuses on longer term strategies and hard targets and goals.
Key commitments from the 2014-2017 RAP include:
• 100% of NRL employees participate in cultural awareness training ensuring at least 25% to participate annually
• Engage with a minimum of three Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses to supplygoods and services
• Increase employment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to 5%
• Ensure 80% of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander players report, through an annual survey, feeling supported and like they have a voice in the game
